If Shearwater made a purely recreational dive computer I would buy one instantly.

Uh ... you're going to need to elaborate. Professional rebreather divers use computers.
Professional rebreather divers!?!? I never heard of such a thing. I was talking about commercial divers not sport divers. The computer isn't much good when you are diving in zero vis.
It's actually substantially cheaper than other recreational computers with similar or worse features. Suunto Eon, Oceanic VTX, Mares Icon HD, almost all of the Suunto watch style computers, etc.Because it costs 5 times as much as a purely recreational computer?
