Please guys do not forget about me !!! we have to do the ice diving thing !!!

tip. Usually is good idea to have two girlfriends one in FL and other in CA for the winter.

Hey, the more of us there are the less crazy we'll appear to anyone else who's there... maybe... :)

You WWW crack me up. ;)

Putting on the gear for a dive in 45F water on a 90F sunny day isn't much in the way of fun. Fall means the air temps drop while the water temps remain warm for months - my favorite time of year for diving is right after the lake turns over.

Here in NE, it's never really warmer than 45degrees at depth. I like the fall as well, although, here the reallt crazy vis tend to come in the spring when the water is sooooo cold, but you get days when the wind blows west (offshore).

GIDDS!!!!!!

BE THERE OR BE SQUARE!!!!!!!!

Chris

Actually I wanted to do the NEADC New Year's Day dive. More constructive than what I normally do Jan. 1st ;)

In the winter I snowboard. :D

But I dive wet through October.

If I had the time, I'd buy a drysuit and dive through the winter.

Since I'm not rich, all I do in winter is read Dive Training mag, Northeast dive news and Scuba diving mag. Every month I can't wait until the mail man drops them in the box. It really cheers my winter blues. I call my dive buddys and talk about diving and plan dives for next season. I also go to the "Beneath the sea" convention in the Medowlands. This year its March 24-26. The water temps are not that bad yet,I can still dive wet. But only for a few more weeks. But hey... Winter is not that bad. The holidays are great. As soon as that chill is in the air, I think of one thing.... Turkey. Then X-mas. Then New Years. I guess the only bad time is Feb thru April. So its not really THAT bad.

What do you all do in the winter?
When do you usually pack it in for the season?
Pretty soon it's gonna be too cold for me to get in the water unless I get on top of the drysuit thing ASAP.
I don't want to get out of the water!
*crosses arms and looks stubborn while trying not to shiver*
I'm sure I can dive in the pool to do skills but how boring!

This winter will be the test - to see how badly I need a drysuit. I'm gonna go wet for as long as I can..........till things start to freeze and fall off! Then I will consider getting the drysuit.

if you take a trip to RI in the winter, you will last a bit longer,
it stays warmer longer, and gets warmer faster here

I dive :D

And ski, and ice climb, and have snowball fights and build snow forts....
