Crazyduck:Debra,
Heres a list of North Texas lakes through Texas State Parks-
http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/fishboat/fish/recreational/lakes/inplains.phtml
If you click on the lake it provides depth and relative clarity.
Thanks for the list. I will keep that in my favorites and try and mark off each one I dive. I would like to try Fairfield. I have heard people have been diving there and i particuarly love this little ditty from the parks department website.
"Inundated timber is abundant in the upper end of the lake and in both coves on the east side. Hydrilla forms a fringe around the reservoir out to approximately 5 feet. Pockets of native pondweed provide openings in the hydrilla and make good ambush points. The heated cove in this power plant cooling lake provides warm water even in the winter. Emergent cattails and cutgrass grow in shallow water on the shoreward side of the hydrilla."
Ahh yes the warm water of a power plant, kind of makes you tingly all over.....![]()

Crazyduck:We used to be able to dive Squaw creek. This is the cooling pond for Commanche Nuclear power plant. It has been off limits for sometime know.
Rumor has it that TXU closed down the park, and is in the process of selling off the lake property privately. So do they let the lake glow at Christmas time. HEHEHEHE.
I did my diving in Cozumel with Martin. Never had more than 10 divers and twice just 7. I found it quite nice.Daylonious:Bo - you doing the Grand Princess in January? I'm booked on that too. Looking for local dive operators in Belize, Majahual, GC, and Coz so I won't be on a cattle boat with "up to 25 other divers" as the nice lady from Princess told me.
