I recently rented 4 tanks from Anchor Shack for a couple of co-workers for a Lobos dive we did. I used to rent tanks from them myself before I bought my own. Two of the tanks were at 2000 and the other two were at 2200 PSI. I wasn't too thrilled about that since they are 2400 PSI tanks and were all stamped as plus rated on the last hydro.

Wow, that's a bummer. JT? What do you think that was all about? I hate when I get a bad fill. Did you check them before you left Nathan? I need to get in a habit of making sure before I leave. I am usually in such a big hurry, that I don't take the extra time to check the fill.

I was unlucky enough to stop by Aquarius today while the booster was out of service. My HP 100CF steel tank had to only be filled to about 3250. I suppose I could go back by and get it upped later today or early tomorrow to get it "topped off".

Man, with all of these stories, I'm glad I have my own compressor and nitrox stick at home in the garage.

With service like that, it's no wonder that LDS's are having rough times.

dannobee,
I told some woman divers from Concord who were interested in meeting others diving Monterey about your group. They have 30+ dives under their belts, but the instructor over-rid me and said it was not a good idea diving with unknowns from SB.

The instructor over rid you???? How can he over ride you???? Tell him to piss off.... Diving is about meeting new people and making friends...Yes... Meeting "Unknowns" from scuba board can pose a hazard... but if people use good common sense and go with a group that they know when meeting new people... meet somewhere in public will reduce what ever incident may occur....

wow....Whos da instructor... ill give him a good kick in da butt....thats like saying dont dive with anyone other then you went to class with...

The booster at Aquarius del Monte has been having a problem for the last couple of
weeks. A minor leak meant they had to burn a lot of compressed air to fill HP tanks.
They ordered the the part right away, but it took forever to get shipped (it was "in
stock"). Hoperully your experience today was because they booster was torn down
to install the part rather than because it suffered a different failure.

Did you check them before you left Nathan?

Nope, I was in a hurry and I had never had a problem with tank rentals at Anchor Shack before. I get my own tanks filled there about half the time, the other half at Cal Dive in Berkeley which is near my office. Hopefully it was a fluke, but I'll bring my pressure gauge in the next time I get my tanks filled there. :)
