Warranty - Buying Scubapro reg online

Hi,

I see some websites have much better prices than the dive shops in my area but I had heard that Scubapro supposedly isn't supposed to sell to those online stores and if you buy from them they're not warantted through Scubapro. Is this true? Thanks.

That's correct. If you buy SCUBAPro or Uwatec online in the US, there may be a warranty from the vendor, but there is no warranty from SCUBAPro/Uwatec.

The factory warranty entitles you to service from any authorized dealer, while the online warranty typically requires that you return the product to the store you purchased it from.

Only you can decide if the price difference is worth the warranty difference.

Aside from being the best breathing regulator of the market, the big thing that SCUBAPRO has going for it is the Parts for Life Warranty; which, as long as you have it serviced annually, you never pay for the parts. And the parts can be as much as $60 or $80 per year... and this can really add up.

The initial savings can cost you several hundred dollars over the life of the regulator... I service many SCUBAPRO regs that are over 20 years old on a regular basis
