6 - 8 ft is fine for a buddy line, loop on each end.

That's pretty long for a buddy line. Why did you make them that long? It's better to stay close in low visibility. While we had excellent visibility last weekend and I certainly hope we get similar conditions, I really don't expect to be so lucky. I'll make several spare lines tonight, not many folks have responded, so I don't know how many need them.It should be lots of fun.

WALTER,

Our buddy lines are like 10 or 12 feet long. I will have to measure them to be absolutely positive. But they are deffinately long.
Is this unusual??
We have yet to use them though. I can deffinately agree that it is best to have a buddy line. Can you share any techniques that are best to use with them??![]()

If anyone is interested, I'll be happy to give a dive briefing, which will include use of buddy lines, surf entry and exit, how to find fossils, and what critters you can expect to encounter while cruising around. I'll also have some examples of fossils (not just shark teeth) that can be found if you keep your eyes peeled. I'll bring my screen box so the non divers can look for teeth in the surf zone.

Wendy,
It doesn't matter how long your hose is, if I run OOA, I still need to make it all the way to you before I can get some of your air. That 7 ft hose isn't sticking straight out toward me.
