Hi Burhan, should have shown you the pic before you left ... shell was not obvious and size around 3-4 cm

First dives in UAE since last September, temperature on Inch 2 29C and Martini Rock 30C, sheer luxury but not a nudi in sight.

Still trying to find that perfect whip coral goby shot

Water temps still continue to stay nice and warm, 30C at Car Cemetery yesterday and some Phidiana militaris to photograph too :)

A 20 minute delayed departure due to two divers arriving late despite being told to be at the dive op at 0900 as the boat departs at 0930. Personally I would be taking deposits and if they are not on time and don't call ahead if delayed, tough sh!t.

On top of that they lost some dive gear that was loaned to them from the DM, some people just have no respect for other person's personal belongings.

Anyway rant over

Fancy a shag?

28C :D still in a 3mm

Three dives today, on Inchcape 1 at 0800 with some guys finishing their TEK 40 and actually had a buddy for once, my Greek friend Dimitri. He practiced some skills and we did gas switching, short dive for me as Dimitri was on Air and I was on EAN32.

Second dive was planned for Inch 2 but a boatload of 12 guys beat us to it and given the numbers we decided that the vis was poor enough without having to contend with that lot and moved to Martini Rock.

Third dive was at Hole in the Wall where I managed to get a half decent shot of this "bird goby"

The "Bird Goby" above is in fact not a goby but a Triplefin.

Diving yesterday, temps have dropped to 25C, although last week I was informed that it was 24C, so the 5mm is back into service.

Had a 79 minute dive on Inch 2 and an 89 minute dive on Car Cemetery with Vanjie. Due to several reasons including the Dubai 7s happening this weekend we saw very few other boats, and apart from three other divers on Inch 2 there appeared to be very little activity :)

Surface conditions were flat calm but visibility was around 2-3M below, this dropped to less than a meter when we were swamped by hundreds of fish on Inch 2, I had even taken the optimistic view I could shoot wide angle, and since I had a buddy today she carried my D70 with the 10-17 Tokina lens, while I used the D300 with 105 and +10 diopter. I only took 5 shots with the D70!

Photographed quite a few new nudis that I have not seen before on this wreck, some very very small, and few laying eggs which is a great sign.

Above a Janolus sp with eggs at the top of the photo, an below a Phyllodesmium laying eggs

Really small unidentified nudi (the pointer is 5mm in diameter)

Three dives today, Inchcape 1, Inchcape 2 and Martini Rock.

Strong current at all locations but more at the surface than at the bottom, water temps 24C, and by the end of the third dive I was getting cold in my 5mm and Lava Core hooded vest.

Early departure from Scuba2000 at 0800 in order to beat the mobs on Inch 1.

Masses of fish on both wrecks and by the time I was finishing my second dive on Inch 2 and coming up the line I was being trampled upon by divers from the Al Boom cattle boat.

Shot macro on the third dive (Martini Rock), but not downloaded the pics yet. The mooring has been cut at Martini Rock, very obvious too, we will blame the fishermen, they frequently steal the mooring buoys.

Methinks the 5mm semidry is going to come into action next week

Couple of shots from Martini, actually I had forgotten to re-attach my focus light to the D300 housing so was pretty limited in finding the stuff I normally look for on Inch 2.

Do you have the names of these two types of fish please?
