You folks sound like candidates for the "belt and suspenders" club.
Super glue isn't really necessary, if you melt the ends properly. I've been using simple overhand and square knots on my bolt snaps for over 10 years, using exactly the method that is shown on the DiveRite Express website. I've never had an issue with anything unraveling. Just remember that cave line will stretch a little when it gets wet, which can cause the whole assembly to loosen. The key (as limeyx mentioned) is getting everything as tight as possible when you tie the knots.
