Well the santi would be a decent suggestion, if she didn't need it in 8 days.

Well, changing anything too much right before a class is not ideal in the first place.
I think the only option is to bring hot soup/tea and suck it up.

Pinnacle Merino-Evolution drysuit undergarment. :)
I have a dive buddy who has one and he loves it. He likes it enough that I'll probably buy one for myself.

Outer layer of shell nylon to keep the wind from freezing you.
100g thinsulate
250g technical fleece
300g merino wool

The trick for staying warm is being well rested, good nutrition and proper hydration. While a good undergarment will keep you warmer than a poor one, no amount of insulation will help if your burnt out.
Just a side note if you get a new set of undies and need to have it tailored i’ll be glad to make a same day turnaround for you

I remember trying one of these on at Vegas DEMA not long ago. I loved the neo cuffs, and they fit me perfectly!

Now that I'm in dry gloves year round, it matters much less these days.

This was also rather expensive, if I recall. I'm just too tight. A solid eBay UG with some Carols underneath and I've been happy (down to 52 for 90 minutes.) Of course, I'm not some mental patient diving for 200 minutes in 45 degree water.

Has your buddy ever dove it with a major leak with 45 minutes of deco to do in 40 degree water?

JeffG - Would you have part #s for the heater?
Thanks
Eric
I don't think Jeff's been back on ScubaBoard since the last rash of bannings ... you might try asking Lurker over on TDS ...

Just got the pre-class e-mail from the Rec Triox instructor. "We will be in the water for two hours at a time, so make sure your thermal protection is adequate. Add layers if necessary."

YIKES!!!!

At present, I'm wearing a layer of heavy fleece under 200g Thinsulate under 200g Thinsulate under a 2 mm compressed neo suit. Water temp is 46, and I'm good for about an hour if we keep moving. Hanging out, doing skills and drills, by an hour I'm cold, and it wouldn't be long to shivering. Further, I'm carrying a staggering TWENTY THREE POUNDS of weight WITH double 85s to wear all that stuff.

Two hours? Two HOURS??? TWO HOURS???????

Anybody remember the link to the heated shirts?

Seriously, I have no idea what to do. Even if the DUI 400g garment is the magic bullet the shop owner wants me to believe it is, mine would have to be custom and there's no way I'd have it by March 9th.

Freeze? Withdraw?

Boy, I thought the swim test had me in a dither.

This is why I do all my training in Florida now. The water is always 68-72 degrees. This last trip the water was warmer than the air. It was nice getting in...and staying in... :D

Oceanic do the "Ice breaker" heated vest. Not cheap and does involve making a hole in drysuit though.
