I have a close friend who has been hospitalized for three months and the doctors have made several misdiagnoses of her condition. She travels internationally a fair bit to film underwater documentaries for her employer and is thinking she may have contracted some unusual tropical disease that her doctors here in the States aren't familiar with.

Do people have recommendations regarding tropical disease specialists she might consult. It is possible she contracted this in Africa, but that is not certain.

Thank you for any recommendations you can offer. Either post them here or PM me, and thanks in advance. This has been extremely puzzling... not to mention debilitating for her.
