Is it? You proudly pee in your dry suit, I bet. I do put a hand over the lens I'm working on, so I don't startle the straights.

ROTFLMAO! Nope, haven't peed in a dry suit yet. Have a condom catheter setup but despite dives with durations over 3 hours and good hydration, haven't ever had to install it. In my wet suits, on the other hand...

Second dive at Ginnie yesterday. I was only in for 30 minutes and got kinda chilled. That's a first. Best part is that I didn't fall go boom this time. I took my time negotiating around the 4,500 innertubes they had going down to the water's edge and arrived at my Mach eX upright and not covered in sand. Yay!

Are you ready for Hurricane Helene? You know how unpredictable the paths of those can be. 🤠

I need to get some more gas, but yeah, I'm as ready as I can be. I went to swim today, but the governor has decreed several counties emergency zones, so the state parks are closed. :(

Pete, you aren't treading water out there are you?

Mark me safe from Helene. :D

I've been teaching my griece to drive since last Monday. She's put in about 1500 miles, and my hair is a whiter shade of pale. :D However, she didn't want to see Helene up close, so I drover her back to Deltona and went to visit one of my old students in Orlando. We lost power at Jerry's, so I hit an Electrify America charger outside the Florida Mall. I wasn't charged. If I had known that, I would have gotten a much bigger charge. I got more than enough to get to Lake City as they have much better chargers than Gainesville.

I'm way past Gainesville when Dan called and told me that all of Lake City was without power. Also, that we were without power and that they don't expect it back for a week or two. What? I checked my app, and sure enough all of them were "faulted". Crap. I flipped on the next I-75 exit and had enough juice to get back to G-ville, where I encountered the slowest fast charger I have ever been on. $39 later, I had another 300 miles of range. It was just after noon, so I stopped and ate. It seemed that getting back home took forever and I didn't get here until 2:30pm yesterday. The house is not damaged, although the yard is a bit messier with all the leaves and branches lying about. I had sat down in my easy chair to ponder my next steps, which would include setting up the generator, and the lights flicked on. Wow. About a minute later, they went back off. Sigh. About five minutes later they came on for good. The internet followed shortly. Yay! The power had only been out about 15 hours. It's good to have a Suwannee Electrical Coop executive living across the road. :D :D :D

FWIW, a griece is a "grand niece"... I am a gruncle.
