Well I used to be on this board , back int he day as 'jengineer' in fact I could log on but hen I couldn't do anything as they system had locked me out. So what to do? Oh I know create a new ID and then get 5 posts in. Here is number 2.
After a Hiatus of a few years my daughter who refused to get certified in South California water a balmy 55 could have gained her open water cert from her dad a PADI dive instructor. Nooo she had to wait 15 years until she moved to Florida and oh my the water is an easy 80+ F lets get certified. Just got back from a trip to get her logged dives into the double digits. Humm did you know that Halcyon tank straps - the originals form some 20 years ago will break as you are setting up your gear. Humm couldn't do that while you were putting your gear through the ringer at your favorite dive shop in San Pedro California huh?. Never did like plastic connections. Luckily boat had spare straps.
Well I do understand why she didn't get certified in Cali.
Visibility in Key Largo a couple of weeks ago at least 30 feet horizontal and 45 vertical.
A horrendous thermocline at 10-13 feet dropped the water temp at least 2 degrees maybe to 79.
Back in Cali looking at another drysuit.
