One thing to watch is the threads on the old yokes. A friend of mine had a charging whip with the thin yoke and a 3/8 in. screw the screw threads were worn, it eventually failed and the screw went flying across his shop and stuck into his wall.
But that doesn't meen the same thing can't happen to the larger screws too. I recently pulled one from service for the same reason.
