Did I say I was so weak-willed that other people's opinions would determine whiat color fins I bought? Or did I, in fact, simpy re-introduce -- in rather entertaining and well-written fashion, IMHO ;) -- the old debate over the merits of somber vs. lighthearted colors?

Occasionally, this board becomes rather slow -- as you noted in a previous thread, jrdivagrl. Sometimes when it does, I compose what I hope is an interesting post to stimulate interest. It seems to have worked with "Flamingo Pink Fins", although the dilemma I exaggerated for entertainment value has long since been resolved.

For the record: I bought the gray fins, not the pink. But not because of the color. I wanted the Avanti Quattro Power, not the Avanti Tre. Had my color choices been reversed, today I would be wearing pink. Proudly.

explain to me WHY you care what other people think about your funkadelic fins, again? Fins are fins. Go for the coolest, best, ugliest. Whatever you want. It doesnt matter what other people think. YOU GO FOR THINGS YOU LIKE!

I would definitely get those! i havent started buying any diving gear, but when i do i will be sure to accessorise in my fave colours :) if you like em, get em, retail therapy is great!

I think it is too bad the fins you got didn't come in pink.
I absolutely hate girly light pink but hot pink is cool (to me!)
I have also seen guys wearing hot pink and the one that I am thinking of was oh so not girly!! Too bad he was taken!

I do not understand those who pleasure dive (as opposed to hunting, etc.) who choose to go all black. Where is the personality? How can you easily ensure that that IS your dive buddy (in a group) ahead of you if everyone looks the same?

I prefer colors, patterns, and efforts made to be unique. We don't all dress the same above the water, why not express our unique personalities in the water?

I have never looked at another diver and said, "What terrible fashion sense!" I mean really, with a mask on, who looks good anyway?

With my wife it is purple. For the last two years I have helped he find purple dive gear. The fins were the hardes to find. She finally found them in Key Largo. I have to admit it looks good on her.

Too funny. This is the thread that inspired me to buy my pink fins. I don't want to get "lost" my buddy can see me easily. :)

They go with my beanie. I took a marker and drew a 3rd eye and devil horns on it!! Figured I would need all of the help I could get under the sea. LOL
