First some background. I presently dive Pst HP120's but am about to purchase Pst LP104's (or perhaps the new E series) as I pursue further technical dive training. Since I live well inland, I will have to travel by air to obtain this training( British Columbia or the Great Lakes.) As well as taking this training, I plan to travel to these locations on a regular basis to obtain the required experience ( and of course, for the pure fun of it!) What this means is that my PST's will be putting in a lot of time at altitude with zero psi.

What are the consequences of this? Can I expect the tanks to require tumbling at every annual inspection?

Thanks in advance; jbm

I prefer to ship tanks UPS ground. Takes a bit longer, but it's more cost-effective. Flying with them would be a huge hassle and very expensive, I'd imagine.

I'd think that tech training centers would be able to arrange tanks for you, though.

If you really need your own tanks there the best method I've found is to build a wooden shipping crate (solid sucker for 104s) and ship them.

If you plan to do this regularly it won't take long for it to become cost effective to buy a second set and store them at the travel location.

Order and pay for your tanks through your LDS but have them dropped shipped out here to me. (Be sure to get them with 300 bar DIN.)

I will store the tanks here and occassionally bath them in salt water followed by a fresh water rinse.

When it comes time for you to dive out here in the PNW you make your first stop a dive with Uncle Pug and pick up your tanks.

When you are done with your vacation bring the tanks back to me for safe keeping until the next trip.

......300 bar DIN goes without saying

.....gotta condition the hot dip galv

......sounds like a great plan

Yes, I have been thinking along these lines. I'm pretty sure I could use a couple of more 104's in the future anyway.
