I went to my bank today to change dollars to lempira (leftover cash from my recent El Salvador trip). The exchange rate at the bank (Banco de Occidente)for dollars to lempira was 16.95 Lempira to the dollar. The ATM machine was still doing 18.89 Lempira to the dollar on 15 May.

Something to think about if you are considering traveler's checks.
