You guys figured it out before I got back to my computer. Tomorrow I will try to get a pic of both sorbs side by side for comparison.

My rEvo instructor actually uses the larger grain sorb. Told me not to. The manuals and testing are all with the smaller grain size, use that and I will be fine. He has his reasons for using the larger grain size but didn't go into detail. I am sure like most things there is a compromise involved. Something gets better while something gets worse.

But there are people out there who do run the large grain sorb for there own reasons. I'm nowhere near the skill set to even ask questions about it. Just know of it.

True enough. I however have 4 cases of sorb that I “might” be comfortable using at Peacock. I certainly ain’t using it in a high flow cave…at least not without a scooter.

My hunch tells me it’s basically CD…my desire to see my kids grow up says otherwise.

I wouldn't use it in a high flow cave even with a scooter. The scooter can break.

There is evidently a difference in chemical composition between large grain sorb for diving and large grain sorb for ventilators. The question at hand is about using USP medical sorb.

Sure can. Fair point.

Maybe you can get a refund. This probably wasn't done deliberately. Maybe there was a 797 jug sitting on the pile of boxes and whoever took the picture thought it was the same stuff.

I requested a refund from Frederick. I suppose the transaction could be contested through PayPal if he doesn’t refund, but when I initially paid, he refunded and asked me to resend as friends and family to spare him the fees. I did. I regret that now.

My transaction was cash and Frederick has not answered my calls or responded to my emails.

Here is a comparison photo of dive grade on the left and medical on the right.

If he’s a stand-up guy, he should refund as this sorb appears to have been misrepresented (appears unintentional).

Additionally, this was not money out of his pocket as it was his father’s stuff. I hope you get your money back as that would be the honest thing to do here!

A phone call to China got a confirmation that this is not suitable for diving. Here is a link to what I bought from the MP site: SORB
