The medical stuff that I have used in the past was a different brand and was the same size and shape as the diving grade. The stuff I just bought is much larger and not even close to the same shape. I have never seen any dive grade stuff that looks like this, regardless of brand.
Have you been send to same stuff that's in the picture? The 797 canister in the picture is the same stuff I fill into my JJ, the dude I got my sorb from supplies half of Denmark with that same stuff and it's the only sorb approved by JJ. In the manual it just says sofnolime 797, if there were other 797s they would have specified I assume, no?
I don't know about other breathers.

This must be some kind of mix-up. I'd be weird otherwise.
Does the label on your keg look like this one?
MP is not willing to reply to questions in regards to medical grade when asked by a diver. They use a blanket statement that their products are only tested and approved for the uses in their MSDS and labels. They are covering their butts. 797 does not always mean it is diving grade as the current product in question is evident of.
The Merican MP guys might not wanna say, but I'm sure the Brits will tell you.

I'd be really weird if they use the same name for two different products.

So that being said, what is the size and shape of what came out of these jugs? I bought some too, but haven’t opened a jug yet, and am at work…but curious.

This is what’s in the jug. D shape cross section, 2.5-5 mm. So closer to CD sorb than 797. The jugs do not say 797 as was shown in the Picture Pete posted.

Chalk it up to a lesson learned for me. That sucks. Sucks a lot more for the guy that bought 50 cases.

Back to intersorb for me.

Maybe someone else did get 797. It seems that there was least one jug of 797 somewhere.

True enough. I however have 4 cases of sorb that I “might” be comfortable using at Peacock. I certainly ain’t using it in a high flow cave…at least not without a scooter.

My hunch tells me it’s basically CD…my desire to see my kids grow up says otherwise.
