High tide is at 3:30 am.. don't you want to dive it at high tide? Not that I've ever dove it but I've seen the current in between high and low tide and it was UGLY.

Dunno if it would be difficult or if anybody would be up to it, but I've got a house with a big yard and a lot of shade, we could always have a cookout here. (SW Pensacola)

I will let you shore diving experts figure out what time to do it. I will just be there.:)

That would be great to have the cookout at your house!! We would have (facilities) That would be nice. And I wasn't thinking about having to get the cookers, etc off the boats and onto the shore so that would actually work out alot better.

I may be wrong but I think we'll get our asses whooped unless we dive the jetties at high tide. There are other dive sites we could go to besides something that's tide dependent. Right now seas are calling for 1-3s on Saturday. If we get enough people I may be able to get another boat too.

I am up for any suggestions on divesites. So far confirmed going we have:

Who else is interested in bringing a boat or needs a ride?

Count 2 others-- me and my dad. My dad confirms that the jetties are too hard to estimate the diving. If we have a boat, we can go a little off shore dive sites. The three coal barges is about 1.8 miles off the beach. Also, Casino rubble is a mile off the beach. So we will not have to go that far. I also have the lat and lon of each place if someone has a GPS Navigation unit.

Three Coal Barges rest end to end on a white sand bottom forming a wonderful area for safe, easy diving. The top decks of the 200-foot barges are 15 feet off the bottom. The area has developed into an outstanding fish habitat. The clean sand surrounding the ships is covered with large sand dollars and shells. Sometimes sea turtles are in the area.

The rubble from an old casino (the first building constructed on Pensacola Beach) was dumped in 60 feet of water to form an atificial reef. Large concrete bricks and other construction materials provide habitat for flounder and red snapper.

Xray's boat is full and we need another boat. We'll make some contacts.:)
