Can anyone give some info on this reg? I did a search but have not come up with much. Is it balanced? Other than the adjustment knob how does it differ internally from a standard conshelf? Cheers.

Its another old Nihon Aqualung Japan Product
Part of the original US Divers, Technisub, Spirotechnique group of
companies owned by Air Liquide

Then I wonder what parts it shares with a Conshelf and how easy it is to get parts for the non standard parts, adjustment knob etc...might steer away from it.

For the Nihon Aqualung Sea Frontier
Most of the parts are Conshelf for both 1st and 2nd stage
Box top, yoke, knob, deflector, purge button, lever etc
Only the 1st stage body and 2nd stage box bottom were made in Japan. Incidently
by Kawasaki Aircraft Components who had also manufactured parts for Nihon Aqualung Japan
before and also produced an own brand model (similar) called the Polaris.

Conshelf parts were also used on the Kirby Morgan (nee US Divers) KMB-8 KMB-9 and KMB-10
commercial divers band masks all the way up to Military bunker busting nail guns before they were modified for peaceful purpose and became known as geo stabilization "Soil Nailing"

The rarest Conshelf varient around (non prototype) is on the US Divers model UDS-1
Although at the time the rarest prototype made was a wetsuit heater using the spare LP port
from the conshelf XIV as the "air source" for the fuel heater. (it never made production) Iain M
