I saw that this thread was moving and my heart fluttered as I fully expected that you boys
had a quick look and could leave the day knowing somewhat more than you came in with

alas it was not to be so

I see you have done due diligence on my background checks before responding. You are to be commended!

Yeah thanks, but I've never researched anyone on ScubaBoard less chance of bias
I just listen for the flow of words and knowledge and that shows me who they are

Your toilet to dive shack thread was one where I complimented you on your work

I really wish man that despite what you've been led to believe, that you could take
at least a semi unbiased look into the terminology of bolts screws and also of nuts
from the perspective of my engineering background, precise rather than imprecise
and incorrect

As was Scubapros correct outcome of what must have been not any research at all

A timeless engineering masterpiece a classic never to be replicated truly beautiful

Be aware that the clamp screws come in a few variations.
The drive can be slotted, hex, & phillips head but most important is that there are both metric and American threaded versions of the clamps and so the screws are not universal fit.

Until 1974 the clamps and screws for the 108-109 were imported from Europe.
The screws were slotted.
In '74 the imperial clamps and screws where implemented with phillips heads.
In the same year the numbering system was changed from six to seven digits.
So if your babies still have only six digits and slotted screws, chances are that they are still metric.
Otherwise you will find a pair of new screws in every BA Service Kit (11.245.045), at least here in Europe.

If the Philips head machine screws were imperial #4-40, would you know what thread size/type the earlier slotted Metric screws and later Hex head screws were ?
