How much rum to bring? That is like asking how many stars are in the sky, or grains of sand on the beach.

as seen from the northern or southern hemisphere?

or grains of sand on the beach.

describe the exact area of the beach in meters, all types of sand present and relative distribution, the mean and low tide zones, prevailing winds, exact date of the "count," exact time of day, and number of picnic baskets and blankets present
