OK, now that everybody has been able to speak their mind about the future forum structure for The Florida Conch Divers, here's the proposal for you to vote on.

Florida Conch Divers
--Trips and Local Marketplace... Florida
--Calendar
--Florida Dive Clubs and Groups

----"Orlando Untied"
----"The Panhandle Pundits"
----"Southwest Florida Divers"
----"The Greater Tampa Happy Hour"

Please note: The names and number of club forums in the Florida Dive Clubs and Groups subforum are likely to change. Therefore, the structure you need to vote on is displayed bold.

To ensure correctness, this will be a weeklong public poll.

If you vote "Nay", please state the reason(s) why in this thread.

If this proposal doesn't get a clear majority, we'll have to look at other possible structures.

Who agreed on the name "The Panhandle Pundits"

Bugman had suggested a name "Panhandle Dive Junkies" in the other thread and we had proposed that one? (which was when the Restructuring part 2 thread started.

Why aren't the subforums under the main FL forum and in the Dive Clubs/groups? I wouldn't consider Orlanddo to be a "club", or any of the other regions either.... Putting them under "Dive Club" makes them 2 sub-forums deep and not as likely to be seen!

Edit: I just read the 2nd part that the subforum names are likely to change. So we can deal with that later. Leaving my above comments though as I don't think that was a name that any of us agreed on.

Your voting on the main structure right now... so vote :p

It's not a valid vote because we have no idea what we are voting on.

Is this a vote to split Florida or not?

Is this a vote to split Florida exactly as listed?

I voted no. I don't like it a bit. Marvel said exactly what I prefer right here.

I think no split is proposed. Instead, the splitters are all in one subforum.

You are not voting on the splitter's names.

A Yea vote means one conch forum, and one subforum for trips and local marketplace, and one calendar, and one subforum of X groups.

Edit to add: I may be wrong, but I think a Yea vote is a vote for Marvel's proposal, no?

See? No one knows what the vote will mean. Scap this one and start over with a clear vote.

I suggest:

Should the Florida Conch forum be split?

____ Keep it one forum

____ Split into different forums (to be determined if the split wins)

I think the northwest should be referred to as "The Panhandlers"!:D

I understand what we're voting on and like the proposed structure.
One main conch forum, one main calendar, one main trips and local market place.

Then there's the clubs!!! :)

If we can move the local groups so that are not 2 sub-forums deep (and hidden), I think I (and maybe others) could easily vote AYE. (Move them under the main FL forum).

Sorta like this

Florida Conch Divers
--Trips and Local Marketplace... Florida
--Calendar
--Florida Dive Clubs and Groups
(optional delete with move up)
--"Orlando Untied"
--"The Panhandle Pundits"
--"Southwest Florida Divers"
--"The Greater Tampa Happy Hour"
