My buddy had a 2nd stage freeflow for no reason about 1200' back in jacson blue; This June in Mexico had a pressure gauge decide to start shooting air about 500' back in Temple of Doom...easy with side mount though, just turn tank off and on while exiting.

There are many issues with equipments.

wear and tear is dramatic. Proper review and inspection pre-dive is essential. steel tanks obviously tend to corrode easily. They're is no use for them anymore as the aluminum tanks popularity is at peak.

Check and review equipment thoroughly!

Have fun diving.

Hmmm. Location may be colouring your view about steel tanks' popularity. I see more steels here in cold water diving than Al80s.

No use for them? I need way less weight diving single steels than Al80s, plus there's more capacity available to me, eg. LP 95s, HP 100s, LP 108s...you get the idea.

Nothing happens for no reason and things don't decide to do anything.

Apparently you have never been married......

Even the guys at the NTSB who investigate aircraft accidents couldn't find a reason for the things women do..

Tom, my wife just caught me laughing, read your comments and told me I'm sleepin on the couch tonight...

It's not that bad, at least she let you stay inside.:D:D

Yep, for us, having to use AL tanks is the exception and only occurs when we travel. Our LDS doesn't even offer AL tank rentals.
