Howdy,

My right wrist always leaks with or without dry gloves. I am using latex Elastoseal seals. Tried resetting the seal - no luck. Moreover, my seal does not seem to fit like shown in the picture taken from the official Rolock video: The highlighted part is flat in the tutorial, but when I try fitting my seal, it always seems to buckle. Will take pictures shortly.

Any ideas are welcome. Cheers~

I use silicone seals, I also run them over the next ridge (closer to the big part) but don’t know if that would work with latex. It’s also good to very closely inspect the seal, I had one leak and on close inspection I found a little hole the I assume happened when putting the suit side ring in, lube them well before snapping into to place.

Is there a way to replace the o-ring that is on the butt of the sleeve ring? That o-ring is exposed to the environment if you're diving w/o gloves...

I have never had luck with the way their diagram is.

I always move the seal all the way in similar to @lexvil . I can sometimes see the seal getting a bit "pinched" but it doesn't leak. I listen for the ring to "click" into place. I also try to keep some tension on the wrist seal as I install the ring.

Like @lexvil, I have had a leak and noticed a tiny pinhole in the wrist seal and it was fine after replacing. I had to really stretch it out to see it.

You can order these

I bought 2 packs of 5, have been using one for a while and works perfectly

Assuming we are talking about the same o-ring -- yes -- and I've gone down the rabbit hole on this one....

My gloves used to twist on and off relatively easy and then at one point I got a new set of rings / mounts for a different drysuit and they would never "lock" in place. They would seal for sure but to get them off I needed help.

At DEMA, I ran into the SF Tech / Rolock founder (?) Franz and had a discussion with him about this. He said it shouldn't be that hard, did I use lubricant, etc. etc.

It turns out that at some point there was a larger diameter o-ring. Franz said the standard size of that o-ring is 2.62 x 103mm but said I could use 2.5mm diameter.

I found some on the internet and tried them and they worked okay but not great. I then discovered that DGX carries them but they aren't always in stock and I'm pretty sure they are of the 2.5mm style because since I've been using them, the gloves have the perfect tension donning and doffing.

I always carry a couple extra sets with me when I travel. Because of tendons, I never don't dive without dry gloves but I'm not exactly the best when it comes to storing my drysuit on boats, etc. and often have dirt and other crap on those o-rings.

Related to all this, I started using these new SI-Tech "Elastoeal" wrist seals which are really nice. They are much easier to slip my wrists through and are really comfortable.

I saw an email from Ben and bought them from him. I'm sure others have them, but here they are:

They aren't cheap, but man are they nice. :)

@beldridg, thank you for the info. I put "latex" by mistake in my OP. I do use Elastoseal wrist seals and they're nice indeed. They, however, will absolutely not fit the way the diagram above shows.

@lexvil - I see McMaster Carr number 1302N493. Will order.

I am also considering a non-dry glove QCS system for when I don't need the dry gloves.

Finding so si tech oval (QCS) suit side should be easy, I’m about to leave for Curacao so no time to dig some out but should be very easy to find.

This is what you’re looking for

Even with the normal silicone wrist seals, there is a slight amount of buckling when popping the dryglove sleeve wring into the suit wrist ring. What I do to minimize that is put a little water based "personal lubricant" on both the exposed edge of the seal and into the suit ring to make them pop in nice and easy without buckling or having the ridge on the seal partially skip to the next index.

Also, just a little tension pulling back out on the smaller diameter end of the seal can help keep things seated as you pop the rings together.
