Hi folks,

I was thinking about buying a Proton Ice V32 Regulator with a Proton Octopus. Branche = Mares are you probably know.

Has anyone dove with this regulator before? If so, is it comfortable and why?

Any other tips or recommandings in regulators?
I need some good tips here guys.

Thnx,

Roy

Roy,

I was considering the Proton Ice for myself 4 or 5 months ago, but after spending many hours reading posts on this board and talking to a lot of experienced divers who did not have any vested interest in selling me something, I changed my mind and bought an Apeks for myself and my wife, and I'm very happy that I did, The Apeks breathes great and was less expensive than the Proton Ice. I know there are a number of people who post on these boards who love their Mares products, but if you do a search comparing Mares, Apeks, Aqualung or Scubapro, you will find that the greatest majority posters prefer Apeks or Scubapro.

I love my Apeks and suspect that you would too if you bought one.

Take alittle time deciding before you buy and dive as many of these regs as you can.

Good Luck

Mike

I did not dive with it, but tried it in the store. It is a very good breather, although I found the Apeks 200 to be a little bit better and the ScubaPro MK25/S600 and Aqualung Legend LX even better.

The all metal design of the 2nd stage is nice since it helps prevent freeze ups and cotton-mouth. I was warned that UW it is a little heavier in your mouth than the other second stages, which are practically neutrally buoyant.

Ok thnx already,

Does the Aqualung Legend LX gives Cotton mouth?

Some pro's and cons about this regulator to please ;)
