Or maybe it's May and they just haven't gotten around to loading all of the September information yet, or at least haven't made up their minds totally? They are wizards and handling yield management, their computers can now identify your personal machines even if you hide your IPs and simple changes to amount of shopping for fares online must alert to increased interests. If there are seats to be sold, they'll be in. I doubt that anyone needs to shop for charters.

I am not surprised. I suspected big schedule changes now that Chicago is their new home - contrary to assurances that they gave. I will be sending email right now! I guess we can also expect a big fare increase as well. Is'nt consolidation wonderful. No price fixing here!

I read somewhere that CO is holding the reigns in this merger so I assumed :mooner: that they would maintain their hub in Houston :idk: I would assume at this point that mid Aug thru Sept is slow and that is why they have culled back daily flights from Houston...I don't like it for many of the reasons that Deb pointed out in her post :)

It's an ill wind that blows nobody good. I was on Cozumel during the Great Swine Flu Scare of 2009, and while I was down there Continental cut back their flights to three a week. My flight out was canceled, so I had to stay another day. It was tough to handle, but I managed. :D

Hmmm, I just checked Continental's web site for mid August though September flight schedules and now they do have some mid week flights. Maybe they heard from their customers, and are making some compromises. It looks like there will be 2-3 midweek flights during this time. Lets keep our fingers crossed.

I am sure you did with your toes in the water, your :mooner: in the sand and a cold beer in your hand :D

Well I just received this email from the Continental Rep, and noticed several familiar names that also received it. I do not know how much if any of this was because of us, but I am sure it did not hurt our cause. Here it is,

To all, thanks for your sincere interest in Continental and our service to Cozumel, Mexico. We’re very proud of our long-standing commitment to Cozumel, and know that our mutual success relies heavily on the partnership we’ve built over the years.

As you’ve noted, we recently reduced our schedule for the month of September in an attempt to better match supply with the historically low demand we see during that time of the year. While this seemed straightforward enough, your concerns and those echoed by your community have helped us better understand how we can serve Cozumel better. As a result, we’re proud to be adding a Thursday roundtrip designed to allow for multiple day trips to the area.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. It’s made a difference. Please pass the good news along, and help us show that there’s healthy demand to Cozumel in September after all!

Sincerely,

Alex Savic

Yes, I got the e-mail as well. Good to know they're listening. Sept & Oct are fairly quiet in Coz due to it being peak hurricane season but I think the extra flights on Thursday will be helpful to everyone.

Post #39 in this thread from me,

Maybe we did make a difference afterall.
