I found out that ASP diving, a new start in Fort Wayne, sells the Hogs. This is about a 10 minute drive from my house. I called him last night and found out that he helps set the gear up, and is licensed to teach you how to repair it. He quoted me a price around $480. I think that is the way I will go. He himself dives with these on his cave dives. He absolutely loves them. I looked at former strings where some guys were complaining about the Hogs. They automatically assumed price equals good or bad hogs. When I started thinking about it though, what is usually the number 1 cause of death of our kind? Operator error and stupid decisions! Cousteau and company invented the regulator to be a simple fail-proof piece of machinery. I was reading a book the other week about a school teacher who made his own gear from a fire extinguisher and a bunch of other products around the house. He trusted his own stuff to well over 100 feet. That's impressive. I think the Hogs are the number one way to go. I do have a question for Piranha Man. On the website they show a 1st stage yoke valve for $79. What is the deal with that?

I wanted a nice expensive set of regs but as with you, I do not hold the wallet :D. I purchased a complete set of HOG regs and love them. The coldest I have had them is in 35° water and they seemed to perform well (even if the visibility did not). I am looking forward to diving them more. The only issue I have is that right now, in my area the service options are very limited. I either have to drive 2 hours each way to drop them off somewhere or I have to courier them somewhere. I will not hesitate to recommend these regs to even someone in my area because even though the servicing may be an issue, the value is there and the limited service options will correct eventually.

Who in your area is a HOG dealer? We are a HOG dealer at Scuba Plus in Waterford (south of Brantford towards Lake Erie).

The shop I was aware of was you.......ScubaPlus......never been there but will likely be making the trip late this year when they come for first service. It would be great is my KW shop would become one but......

Well let me know when you need them done. I do the majority of the reg work for scuba plus, and I live in Brantford, if that is easier for you to drop off/pick up. Another option is the head instructor, Rick, is a full time HVAC technician, and I believe he does a fair bit of work out near KW/Guelph. Perhaps he could pick them up.

Excellent options. I will get in touch with you here or on OD when the time comes. Thanks
