Sure, even we created the small regional club (KOMI) based on this board. It is always fun to meet SB borad members.

I met my mentor, who has become a valued friend, through a Scubaboard-organized dive. I've made long-term friends through other, non-scuba, BB's, too.

Oh yeah ... this place has influenced my social and professional life big-time.

I've met many local dive buddies and developed some strong friendships.

I've hooked up with students ... some of whom travelled large distances to take my classes.

I even went on a wonderful vacation to Bonaire with 30 fellow ScubaBoardans ... most of whom I would never have had the opportunity to meet were it not for this forum.

For me, the influence of ScubaBoard extends far beyond the limits of the Internet ...

I met my favorite dive buddy and several "new" friends here.

Its great to see so many people meeting friends/dive buddies on this board. Nice to know that there have been a few "hook ups" too.

I've met a number of divers, mostly from SoCal but also as far away as Guam. It's been a lot of fun. Of course I'm still looking to meet my S.O., and this could be a good place to do it because most likely (definitely?) she will be a diver!

Well I am really enjoying the people on this board and I am going to take a trip next May with some of the Deep Dixie Divers.

I met a bunch of SBers in Cozumel on two different occasions. We are having a specific Rocky mtn. SB get together this weekend.
Have also made friends with a few others through PMs just because we had some things in common on our profiles.

I am relatively new to this board and I am just curious...has anyone become really good friends with another SB'er or maybe even met their significant other on this board?

Most definitely!!! Both friends and someone very significant to me! Diving is a wonderful thing to have in common!

Yes:

I won't name names to protect the innocent.

But through ScubaBoard I have met total stangers and gone to Bonaire with them

Gone to Coco View with them and others and

planned and enjoyed a Hawaii dive trip through board members assistance.
