Agreed. I'd assume the captain has some legal liability too, right?
He may? I’m not sure how that works.

You’re a good hunter. That’s how it should be done.
We’re talking about lobster, not fish.Yes bwana good hunter but does bwana take spear out of too small fish before letting go
Dive boat operators that do not speak up when a customer kills an undersized or out of season fish during a hunting trip. Huge red flag for me. If you don’t care about sustaining the fishery then I don’t care about supporting your operation.
Divers are good at hiding small lobsters or slightly undersized fish, but I’ve seen at least two operators in my area allow obvious undersized and out of season fish on their boats. That’s inexcusable in my opinion.
I thought your original comment to me was in reference to MrChan’s comment about throwing smalls back. We were talking about lobster. In the fishing village I live we call them fish
dude and so do you apparently dude
If a charter were to let a DM jump in on the SI to lobster hunt, then depart the area to drop customers on their second site, pick up the customers from that second dive, then wander around for 90 minutes on customer time trying to find its lost DM only for the Coast Guard helo to spot the lost DM and two sheriff vessels to make the rescue - yeah, that would turn me off.
I can’t make up this stuff.
The Captain in the incident I shared has been relieved of his skipper duties.
