I'm not surprised. The next 7+ days look like crap. 5-10' seas all the way through to next weekend ... and beyond it appears.
I was very lucky on my last visit and was able to dive 4 of 5 days between Sept 27 and Oct 1, right after Hurricane Helene.

But soon the lobsters will be walking
These have definitely been some deep water swells .... and that "moves sand". It will be hit and miss on the reefs with some covered and some 'un-covered'. But I agree,,,,bugs are moving right now>>we just can't out there. We need a submarine dive charter to stay under these 9 footers.

PS for the non-buggers >> We are expecting a bottom temp drop next week from 80 down to 75 and that's the beginning of the annual migration. It starts with Mobula & southern rays and 3rd week of Nov is always reports of a whaleshark in WPB/JUP.

Got a dive in at the bridge today. Surprised not more divers there bright and early on this rare dive day. Been 18 days since my last dive.. Was rewarded with 7 seahorses, 20 ft blue water at start, 3 batfish, sea robin, all the regulars... After tide changed, the thermocline was dirty on top out near the channel, and closer to the beach was cold! I accidently grabbed my 5mm instead of the 3mm and was not disappointed! Saw 79 degrees with the thermo. Vis also dropped radically to just a couple feet. But hey! I got to dive and it was 3 hours!!

After being out of diving in So. Florida for some time, I went out an purchased a totally new set of gear.

Now I find the conditions are worse than crappy, so I need to wait to get out there and catch some bugs and spear some hogfish. This sucks!

PS check out my member photo. That is totally real, i.e. no Photoshopping. The tail alone was 2.5 lbs. and fed 3 people! We name it Lobzilla.

so I need to wait to get out there and catch some bugs and spear some hogfish..
Gonna be a 6 month long wait for that hogfish,,,but next week the weather looks better & sooner.
