I called an old, reliable hand from one of the charters.

He said it's like diving in mud right now.
LOL... I provided an accurate report. 15-20 ft vis, warm and moderate north current in 130. I think all the commercial divers bailed and we saw a charter guy going in (at 8:45 am) saying it was blacked out, but we had to see for ourselves.

Pretty crappy conditions for the local area. Got some lobsters today, but was hesitant to collect lionfish, hate hanging in dirty cold freshwater with bleeding fish.. but of course, I couldn't resist a brown snouter and did the hang with him (and a remora). We got in our 3 dives each.

Blue water moderate current 30-35 vis warm

I'll take 30+ ft any time. Seas are picking up again this week.

Last year I did 9 dives in October, 7 in November (4 of which were in the springs), and 7 in December which were lows for the year.
This year I've been able to sneak in 3 dives in October, last one being Oct 6th. That's after doing 15 dives in September.

Hopefully we'll have some vis at the bridge this weekend, it's Carol Woodward's memorial dive and potluck celebration. Everyone is invited.

Sounds like a fun day to go sailing if you have a boat that will take it. :sprint:

The fish usually bite well in these conditions too, for those who are hearty enough to venture offshore in these conditions.
