Hello:

I'm from Puerto Rico and got my five star certification as Open Wate Diver and Specialist. It was around 95' and i have lost my certification ids. The place that i got certified has been shut down and i have no idea where to find my instructor.

How could i get a replacement for it? Is this possible? Where do i have to contact in order to proceed?

I really want to start diving again!!!! :D

Thanks for the time, any information in regards will be greatly apreciated.

Regards

Have you tried the online Card Replacement feature of the PADI web site? Failing that, call their customer service number - it's on the web page. www,padi.com

There's a 5 star certification?

That's almost exactly what I was going to say! :D

PADI doesn't have a 5 star rating - as far as I know they never did but certainly not in 1995. I suppose it's possible that your dive shop 'elaborated' the certification but are you sure you were trained by PADI?

If you were then you can e-mail PADI direct or get a replacement card from their website. If you're really stuck then send me a PM with your full name and date of birth and I can check for you.

Cheers - and welcome back to diving! :)

Just had a thought - it may have been a 5-star dive centre which is a certification that PADI gives to dive shops who meet particular requirements. Perhaps that's where the confusion arises?

Best guess: PADI 5 star resorts get to issue C-Cards that are a special gold colour. I wonder if the OP was asking about how to make sure his re-issued C-Card was one of the special ones?

You gotta be kidding me? I never heard of this. Do divers realize that the color of the card means nothing?

What do you mean? My card is gold coloured - that means I am clearly better than other divers who have conventional blue PADI cards.
