My AMEX card is gold, which means I am certainly better at buying dive equipment. Just ask my wife who insists I not use her Platinum card since we all know that would only lead to certain bankruptcy.

Boy do I feel cheated, no 5 star PADI card and my rescue training is with NAUI. Guess I will never beome even a good diver.

There should be a difference, other wise it wouldn't have been advertise as Five Star Padi cert. and yes my card was gold colour.

The difference is that your card came from a shop that paid PADI for a door sticker that says "5 Star" on it, and agreed to not deal with any competing agencies. For example, a PADI 5-Star Shop can't offer NAUI Certifications.

"5-star" is an advertising term not a rating of any sort. There are no "4-Star" shops.

flots.
