I must admit that I don't have all that much experience with newbie Instructors. The people I've worked, dived with and/or hang-out with have been diving-pro's or experienced divers for 10 years or more...

Unfortunately I have had much experience of newbie and trainee 'proffessionalls' in the Pattaya area.
I will state an example that in my experience your average escorted dive in Pattaya will be approximately 40 minutes or less duration regardless of other considerations. This may well be acceptable for interns on these instructor courses, but for customers paying 3300 baht for a days diving it is anything but acceptable.
This is something that interns learn from the shops they are diving with and their superiors, and now as a result this procedure has become endemic in the Pattaya dive industry.
I think a good example of trainees following what they are tought.

I guess I'd be unhappy if I were paying 3300 baht to spend the day diving with an intern, but the shortened dive might, in fact, be a sweet relief.

45 min was the standard on most dives there.

Last time, (Mermaid) they checked the remaining Air pressure (50 bar) the dive time and the max. deep when entering the boat, hahahaha
Considering that all started and finished at the same time with guide (how could I be longer diving) and if I am there flat on ground I am on 32 meter how can I be deeper, hahahaha

Edit: but of course it does not hurt to check that......

I do not understand what you are saying there. Maybe you could offer some clarification.

Want to tell that some people follow what they have learned no matter if it makes sense or not...checking if no one went deeper than allowed does not make sense if it isn't deeper at that area....

Part of that check could also be to have written information in case somebody gets DCS.

Unfortunately that is how a number of Pattaya shops operate, some people doing internships who pay to train/work at a dive shop for a few months.
These paying customers in turn looking after ordinary divers and customers doing single courses.
In my mind this is why the service for diving customers is so bad on most Pattaya boats.
And all these shops charging now 3300 baht for a days diving justify the high charge by the high quality service they provide, when the reality is anything but good quality.
In my mind if these shops want to charge the highly inflated prices citing their quality service, their diving customers should be looked after seperately by dedicated professionals.

I checked realdiver and mermaid and the charge 3000 incl equipment (and less with own equipment).
But it is still to much....1500-2000 would be fair.
