LP95 w/10% overfill(2400+ = 2640) has 95cf of gas.

Multiply 0.0359 by filled pressure to find your volume.

ie, at 3600psi, you'll have 129.5cf of gas.

AL80 holds like 78cf of gas at rated pressure. They are like 4 pounds negative full and 4 pounds positive empty. LP95 is negative 10 full and negative 3 empty. You should need 7 pounds less weight with the LP95 if you are already weighted properly. Bottomtime will be determined by either you SAC rate or NDL with whatever mix you are using.

So I'm sitting here still trying to figure this out. I know I need to get the pressure divide by volume and you get your psi per foot. Then I add 10% to that?

Can you step through the math/process with a LP107?

Michael

107/2640(rated volume is used with rated pressure + 10%, ie 2400psi + 10% of 2400psi = 2640psi) = 0.0405
0.0405 x pressure filled = true volume

Example
0.0405 x 3600psi(cave fill) = 145.9cf

Call me if you're still confused.

Ok, so.

107/2640 = 0.0405 (I was thinking the rating was 2640 + 10% more. Not that he tanks are 2400 then you add the +10%. I guess that's where I got confused.)

0.0405 X 3000 (LDS can only fill up to 3000) = 121.5cf.

So I'd roughly have the same or a little more than a HP120. Right?

Michael

EDIT: With the same fill on a set of doubles (same tank), would that be 242cf of air?

Yes and Yes

Very cool. I appreciate it. I'll be diving my LP107s as single until I get my wing and dry suit in.

I am very confused....I think we got into drinks, how wonderfully fun I am (thanks Clay!), size, SAC rate, then tank size. Clay, you are doing nitrox 26 (ean 32 max is 130 right, so 26 or so should be safe right) on what size tank? I am going to see if I can rent from Gary unless Daisy D folks have nitrox availability....will have to check. Want to get similar set-up to y'all. My sac rate varies considerably depending on if I am trying to keep up with a sea turtle, fish, etc. If I am barely moving, it's like I'm using a rebreather....lol. Denise....we will totally misbehave....I can't wait for diving and then a huge whopper cold beer afterward.

Depends on the ppO2 level you were shooting for... The books want you to stick to ppO2 level of 1.4, which would mean mix as rich as 28% for 130', ppO2 of 1.5 and you're a bit higher with 29% at 130'. Here's the kicker though, flight deck is at 139', so if you want hit the flight deck, plan more conservatively.

I'd personally do my first dive to the deck with 27-28%, then a second dive with a higher mix, like 36%, and stay shallow(above 100' w/36%). Plenty to see at 100' and above ya know?
