Today's news makes reference to the explosive that was found floating by the captain from "a well known dive shop".
Bombazos "started" at Marina Cozumel

COZUMEL, March 8 .- The bomb exploded in the Marina Cozumel was linked to the open investigation regarding the explosion in the Caribbean I four days later, its manufacture has similar characteristics with the explosive described by means of the City of Mexico that according to It exploded inside the Caribbean I.
Federal sources revealed that both cases, separately, have been included in the investigation headed by the Attorney General's Office (PGR). The reason lies in the strong suspicion of the authorities, in the sense that both explosive devices were manufactured by the same person, what they do not understand is how one ended up in the sea at the mercy of the current.
The media of Mexico City made widespread this Thursday what they identify as the bomb detonated artfully in the dock of Playa del Carmen on February 21, that outbreak had to be remote control because if it had been a manual, it would have been discussed at least one dead.
FOR THIS! Quintana Roo was the only media in the country that reported in its edition published on February 23, two days after the bombing in Playa del Carmen, the description of the bomb exploded in the Marina Cozumel reservation destined for nautical tourism vessels.
In the aforementioned edition it was reported that said device was found in Cozumel, on February 19 of this year, when crew members from a well-known dive company found it approximately 800 meters from the coastline. The strange thing about their structure caught their attention, they put him on board and went to the Cozumel Marina, having the fortune that he did not exploit them inside the boat, when manipulating it.
Specifically, it was an object composed of a PVC pipe, whose length was about 70 centimeters and almost 13 centimeters in diameter. Inside this cylindrical structure were arranged a series of cardboard tubes from which cables came out whose terminals were joined to a small plastic box that had a receiving antenna.
To the knowledge of elements of the Naval Sector, they went to the enclosure where one of the soldiers used a line of fishing with hook hooking it to the device of the antenna, once it was sheltered, pulled it to separate the two plastic bodies united by cables.
Immediately the explosion took place leaving to escape white smoke, in similar stele arisen after the outbreak registered in the boat four days later.
The person who made the device showed extensive knowledge in explosives, because he placed the antenna to fly the device remotely, probably from a cell phone. At the same time, he made sure to have a plan B, consisting of the certainty that the device would explode in case someone tried to disconnect the cables.
Inside the tube was the explosive charge housed in cardboard cylinders imprisoned by PVC. The intention of the sailors was to deactivate it by separating the cables, but it exploded as if it were an insurance placed by the manufacturer.
This outbreak that some local businessman cataloged as a "dove" (firecracker), was not the dimension seen in the videos uploaded to social networks, because the artifact of the Marina Cozumel was "encased" on its four sides by bulletproof metal plates and a heavy rock of just under a meter in length.
For that reason when exploding did not cause damage, all the rain of splinters that could produce was enclosed in that metal bucket, even with that, it caused a thunderous sound.
This Thursday, in social networks and in different media of the City of Mexico, photographs of what they point out were the bomb that exploded inside the Caribbean I. One of these has a strong resemblance to the one detonated in the Marina Cozumel, due to the dimension of the PVC pipe in the hands of a military element, which opens the possibility that there were going to be two pumps, or had a spare with the same specifications to cause major damage, in a plan that was predated in advance and with a perspective of damage to cause.
This means of communication was the first to reveal that it was not a mechanical failure that caused the explosion two days after the attack on the ship, after the analysis of a series of technical factors that distanced that possibility, as no damage to the engine room that maintained its own propulsion and government, besides not sinking in the same place where it was docked, despite the insistence of the Integral Port Administration of Quintana Roo (Apiqroo) for fixing a position based on a supposed mechanical failure that never had an echo.
