I'm back at work with withdrawal symptoms! Was great to meet everyone last weekend and had a great time diving, hope to make it back soon.

There's been a lot of folks here in this thread who have gone to Coz and returned already but I'm not seeing many trip reports. Let's get on the ball people as there are landlocked people who depend upon trip reports to maintain their sanity!

It was a pleasure meeting you as well! Here's a little hint, to deal with your withdrawl symptoms, you have to start planning your next trip to Coz.

We went back last night for a Cucumber Jalapeno Marg. Enjoyed it! Hope to get out diving on Friday-Sunday - tried to switch today to tomorrow, but the boat is full. Oh well, another day of lounging around the hotel and finishing up another good book. Hard life, but someone's gotta do it.

Back home from Coz and I'll give a short restaurant review.

Breakfast - We stayed at the Casa Mexicana and they have a good buffet included with the stay. Nice clean hotel by the way and right in town, which was what we were looking for this trip. I could stay here again, but next time we are going to try El Cantil for a new experience. My wife wants a better pool than the little area the Casa Mexicana has.

Lunch

Los Otates - Excellent al pastor tacos and the wife liked the queso fundido

Rocky Java - Great margaritas and fish tacos

Didn't have time for a lot of lunches

Dinner

Guido's - Our favorite while we were here this time. They had this salad with lobster chunks in it that was wonderful and the parmesan crusted wahoo was terrific

Wet Wendy's - Had a couple of decent steak tacos and a great margarita, this was a scubaboard meet and greet and was a fun time.

Mission Parilla on 30th - First time at this place and what a wonderful Mexican food eaterie! My wife and I both loved this place, I had the Mexican combination, yummy!

Sorrissi's - Overpriced and what good Italian restaurant gives you a pasta dish without any bread? They are officialy out of our loop. I was not impressed. Tried to go to Kinta's that night but it was Monday and it was closed. I did eat at Sorrissi's with two new friends, Richard and Maggie that were great company and thoroughly enjoyed the evening, just didn't feel we got our monies worth?

The rest of the trip was awesome after some early travel hurdles and we think we'll be back in November or January, just have to work out the details.

Got the last seat on the flight, but my bag didn't get a seat, so it's still in Atlanta. Wonder what sort of crazy assembly of gear I'll be diving tomorrow!
Hired a beserk cabbie who got me from the Cancun airport to the ferry in just over a half hour.

Grey, I LOVE Casa Mexicana, we return there over and over again.

You have a point about the "pool" though. It's pretty useless. I keep suggesting they turn it into a rinse tank for those of us who are hosing off our stuff in the shower and carrying it dripping wet to hang on the balcony.

I'm bringing rope this time for a makeshift clothesline and a contractor bag to do the shower to balcony shuffle.

Other than that, the place rocks. Cleanest place around, we actually saw them polishing the doorknobs and room number plates two days in a row.

Finally!

Darn Continental is charging for exit row seats now. They wanted $59 each for the first leg to Houston and $39 each for the Houston to Coz leg. Bah humbug! Well, at least they don't charge for the 1st checked bag like US Airways does. And no opportunity to upgrade to 1st class as they were all taken already.
