Dennis,

I've stayed and dived with Exotic on my first trip... Thumbs up if you prefer an all in one resort. For next week's trip, we're going to be diving with Thresher Shark Divers.

Here's a link to my trip report, I was there last October. Should give you some ideas. I'll make it back eventually, but I have a few other places I want to dive first :) I stayed at Hippocampus at the beginning of my trip and it's right next door to Sea Explorers. They looked like a pretty good organization just from an outside looking in viewpoint. I may try them next time I go. Thresher Shark Divers has some really good dive guides too :)

I was in Malapascua in February and was 2 for 2 on the Thresher shark dive. On the first dive, one of the sharks just stayed in our area for a good 20 minutes. We also dove the Kimud shoal, but didn't get to see any hammerheads.

Preferred dive shop there?

I like Thresher Shark Divers. I've dived with Andrea and Treavor since they were running the Bubbles007 shop four years ago. I did go with Sea Explorer once while TSD was in the process of setting up their previous shop. You've gotta like the bar up on the roof after diving - especially nice for catching the breeze.

I saw a Thresher shark colliding with a manta on Monad Shoal ((Malapascua)) this morning ((yesterday we had 2+1 Threshers and the day before nothing, so all in all en excellent experience...))

I dived this time with Thresher Shark Divers ((last time with Sea Explorers and Exotic)), in my opinion Sea Explorers are probably the best ((but fully booked this time)) closely followed Thresher Shark Divers.

Next stop Bohol, I think...

// Magnus;

BTW, we had mantas around for the full hour this morning:)...

Hey Magnus, I think we were on the same boat and same dive... kicking myself for not getting that manta and thresher shot!!! Just got back home, will try to post a few pics over the next few days. Have fun in Bohol. Lot of devil rays on our second day at Monad.

Anyone been to Malapascua lately? Is this still a hot spot for Thresher sharks?

Thanks,
// Magnus;

Minus-1 - is that you?

pakman, I think you are right, and I think I was the one next to you on the dive. Interesting meeting here rather than on the boat :)

I think one of the Japanese divers got it all on video...

:lol: my bad for not introducing myself before the dive. Oh and they were Korean, not Japanese :wink:. (your ears must be aching from having them yapping away in Korean and our group yapping away in Chinese :D). I remember seeing the thresher & manta, but from my angle I just couldn't get a clean shot. Anyways, was a good trip. Hope you have a good time down in Bohol.
