My friends and I are planning to dive in Malapascua Island, Philippines to see some beautiful Thresher Sharks.

Have any of you swam with sharks during your dives? Or maybe some of you have been to Malapascua Island already? Please do share your experiences in this thread!
i swam with sharks quite often in the great blue hole in belize still alive. they where reef sharks.

I have dived with lots of sharks. Malapascua was interesting but except for the Threshers (very cool) nothing much else to see. I got my AOW at the same time so was worth the trip for me. Socorro Islands we saw 11 different shark species ranging from Hammer Heads, Oceanic Black Tips, Whale Sharks, tons of reef sharks, Grey sharks, Silky Sharks etc. I love diving with Sharks. Going to Maldives tomorrow and hope for Tiger sharks as well.

Which dive company did you use in Oslob? Did you go straight in or did you have to queue with the snorkelers for your "turn". I would imagine that they drop the divers while the snorkelers wait for their turn ...

The reason I ask is that some sites say

"As much as possible, we do not recommend booking this tour during super peak seasons due to the long queues for whale shark watching that take 2-3 hours of waiting time unless you have a lot of patience. The following seasons are Chinese New Year, Holy Week, All Souls Day, All Saints Day, and Christmas Week to New Year."

Wondering if this applies to diving as well ...
No, we didn't queue with snorklers. I don't know which divecenter we used, I arranged it in Moalboal and they organised transport, the diving in Oslob and a boatdive. Divers can go in when they want. There are some diveshops in Oslob, so you don't have to take the snorklers way.
