You are responding to someone who do not have much travelling experiences in Philippines.
I have been coming to Philippines for well over 30 yrs and flight has never been an issue.
Am I lucky? I don't think so, I planned carefully.
Nothing is perfect.
Yeah, I'm looking for that careful realistic plan! 👌👌

@ukuntrit
Malapascua - Coron and Sogod Bay.
Diving in Sogod Bay is very good and I am returning next Feb again. And that should be my 5th trip and getting there is not difficult.
In Coron please make sure you dive Kyokuzan Maru which is in the north of the island. Most operators would not go there because of the distance. This is the BEST in Coron.
Leave Bohol right at the end if you still have time.
Thanks a lot for the valuable feedback! I think we have a plan! 🙏👌

I guess I have been lucky. Most of my inter island flights have been on time. I have had delays and cancellation/rebooking but the longest I have been set back is 2 hours.
If flying PAL domestic, there's a reasonable chance the flight will depart on schedule; with Cebu Pacific and Sunlight Air, fuhgeddaboudit 😜

LOL.
Absolutely BS from someone who has no in-depth experiences of travelling in Philippines.

Mostly Cebu pacific and Air Asia. Out of dozens of flights, I think I have had one cancelled and I caught the next one around 2 hours later. And got a full travel credit for another flight in the future. Another was delayed 2 hours. Between most domestic destinations the flights are around an hour and usually are very frequent. Yea, they are like busses with wings. So they are cramped and the service is not great (although still far better than US domestic flights). But also if you miss one another usually comes along soon after.

We have crossed from Malapascua to Leyte with a small banca as we wanted to avoid backtracking to Cebu and flying to Tacloban + 5hr drive to Sogod Bay. Then the driver from Sogod Bay Scuba Resort picked us up in Leyte (San Isidro) and drove us to SBSR. So it can be done. We arranged the crossing on Malapascua. Just my husband and I on the banca + 2 guys taking us across.
If you are doing touristy stuff on Bohol you can consider crossing the island (more sightseeing) and catch a ferry to Leyte (I don't remember where the ferry went, probably Hilongos). There is now a ferry Cebu-Maasin, with the advantage of Maasin being only a good half an hour from Sogod Bay.

Interesting to know which ferry company is running the trip from Cebu to Maasin now?

Oceanjet is running Cebu-Maasin, Maasin-Cebu (this info is directly from SBSR owners).

Great.
It is about time that another company takes up this route after the demise of Weesam.

Rome2Rio does not has a single word on the direct ferry from Cebu to Maasin.
