Thought I'd start a list of what restaurants have been known to serve lionfish. That evil fish tastes incredible the few times I've eaten it.

Here's a start:

1. Lazy Days
2. Mrs. Macs
3. Fish House

At the risk of being beaten to death and called "DUDE", (ok just joking AGAIN! yes I do have a sense of humor),

We have gurnet "big mouth, red, poisonous, spikey thingy Gurnet Perch, a member of the scorpion fish family. Horrible nasty things you NEVER want to get stung by unless you have a machete to hack your hand off to rid you from the pain, .................... but they taste sooooooo delicious.

On the menu at Fleet landing in Charleston SC when we bring some in.Last year we landed 2000 lbs, this year we plan on ramping up production.Another boat has also started full time harvest up there and a few restaurants have it as a special when there is a supply.

Had it at Chef Michael's in Islamorada a few weeks ago and it was incredible.

Thanks for the post - I've had it once (speared it myself) and me, my dive instructor, my dive buddy, and my wife all agreed it was just about the best fish we've ever tasted - can't wait to get more and try some sashimi and ceviche.

I had it when it was on special at the Bayside Grille in Key Largo, you get a choice of preparations, I chose

Meunier
Pan sauteed in sweet butter and white wine

Fantastic meal and the company of Netdoc and Mseleneous made it much better!

Keep'm up because I'm flying to Miami and driving down, up, down, and back up the Keys beginning on the 20th. I'll have to check up on these places.

I WILL EAT LIONFISH ON THIS TRIP! ...mission#1

:D
