my 2c.....

1, i wouldnt choose lightest regs over safety so dont go for less weight if the product will leave you wanting, especially at depth

2, ive found most dive ops use yoke so i always take a din to yoke converter on our travels. some dive ops have the valves where you can remove the yoke inner to create a din valve buts only been 2 dive ops in 10yrs of traveling

cheers

i agree with almightywife's post above. You can shave perhaps 1+ pound off the weight of a 1st stage if you go Titanium. If you really want to, you can look into Scubapro, Oceanic and Atomic and several other reputable companies that make good Ti versions of their ordinary regs. Personally, I'd rather use the money for dive trips.
I'e always used yoke in my dive travel round the world.

I use a Scubapro MK25T din it lite, and it is the best but thats my 2 cents. I have not ran into any problem with the din. I do have a din to yoke adp.

The Atomic Aquatics T2 is one of the lightest regs. 28.8oz for the 1st/2nd stage (yoke) and hose. And arguably one of the best. $1500 retail :11:

Excellent regulator. Let me see--$1000 to save 8 ounces equals $2000 per pound. Sounds like a bargain to me!

Is it a question of weight or size, I find size more important than several oz or gr of weight, go with something like a Zeagle reg, all their regs are relatively small and an air integrated computer add an Air 2 alternate air source (or whatever the brand you get calls it) on your BC, that will get rid of 2 hoses. I find its more of a size and volume than weight thing.

By all means get a titanium reg but you don't need it if you eliminate 2 hoses. Put your money in a good AI computer.

Aqualung Micra ADJ with Cousteau 1st stage if you can still find one, Ive been using it for 7 or 8 years, its very small and very light and is a nice breather, I like it a lot.

In my experience Yoke seems to be more common for OW Rec type diving certainley in SE Asia, Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific.

Oceanic Zeta is super light and compact if you can still find one.
