My husband use to be a certifed insurance agent in Alabama. Not sure I remember all the technicalites, I could ask him, but diving, race car driving, and motorcycle racing and jumping from a plane was not insurable, prior to the fact. Thank God I got my policy before I started cave diving and I damn sure I keep the premiums up to date. Once you are already under a policy, they can't really do anything and yes I was under a policy for the American Institute of CPA's. Of course I don't get the preferred rate for my age, :( ..but I am insured .. :)

Thanks everyone for your input. We were able to obtain life insurance policies through Northwestern Mutual and Prudential. There is a "flat extra" added to the premium. The "flat extra" ranged from $2.50 per thousand to $5.50 per thousand depending on the company. Even though the flat extra was $3.50 for both NWM and Prudential, the total premium ended up being less than a company that quoted the $2.50 flat extra. The policy benefits we were quoted ranged from $500k to $1.5mm .
