Ok it appears I got mixed up - the liability program appears to be for dive shops and professionals and is separate from dive accident insurance for recreational divers.

Right. The question I have pondered is whether DiveAssure's Liveaboard Rider is worth it. Dives being thwarted by one unforeseen circumstance or another over the years has cost me plenty of money and time. I figure I can't insure against every possible misfortune. Besides, no amount of money can adequately compensate me for the lost enjoyment of not getting to see some spectacular reef in Indonesia.

I don't think that I have ever had a dive thwarted on a liveaboard, other than due to coming down with a sinus cold in Turks and Caicos and a nasty flu in Red Sea.

Had I paid for dive protection insurance on every lob that I've been on over the years, would I be ahead or behind?

Hi
I don't know about DiveAssure but to give you a perspective, I am assured with DAN Europe and I don't live in Europe.
Indeed, DAN Europe covers any citizen of an European country, where ever they are resident in the world or any national residing in Europe.
For DAN Europe, you have to be ‘domicile’ in Europe. But they will take your money as they’re not registered with any financial regulator, that’s why there based in Malta.
