Walter once bubbled...
Human life must be held in very high regard and we should all be sorry when it is lost. This man got what he deserved only in the sense that all actions have consequences. The consequences of his actions was his own death. We cannot protect people from their own stupidity, but rejoicing at their deaths is wrong. This person probably deserved punishment for beating the dog (assuming we do actually have all the facts which is not likely), but that punishment would not have been nor should it have been death.

Very well said Walter. I agree fully with the quoted statements.

...if he was mentally incapacitated at the time.

What if he is mentally incapacitated all the time?

...nascar...

Man, don't do that when I'm drinking a coke.

I was kidding anyway...no offense intended to anyone that likes Nascar.

DO WE KNOW IF HE WAS INCAPACITATED? I don't believe that was shared with the family.

Even so, you obviously misread my comment. But since you are looking for an argument, I would expect nothing less. But since you believe so strongly, why do you place human life above any other?

Please do not think that I am supporting this individuals actions. I think animal abuse is a horrible thing, but my feelings towards human abuse is 1000 times stronger.

I have a hard time holding animals on the same level as humans.

Lets check out this morbid example...

You got a dog in the middle of the road and you have a 5 year old child in the middle of the road. They are 15 feet apart...a semi-truck is roaring down the road, nobody else is around and the truck driver doesnt see either of them.

You can only save the dog, child, or neither, but not both. You are an equal distance away.

Who do you save Scuba Princess?
