My wife & I don't trust most hamburgers, so we buy roasts and grind our own. I still have about 40 in the freezer. I figured to bring 2 per person. If they don't get eaten, so be it, I'll have burgers for dinner too.

If we get there by 9 we ought to be able to just take over one of the cabanna's near the spring. Leaving gear out is usualy not a problem, but I would lock up wallets, etc.

Your right about the Nitrox, unless they added it in the last few months. Bring your own.

This is starting to sound like a pretty cool event, look forward to meeting everyone.

Hey, all.

Troy, we'll be looking forward to meeting some "fresh meat."
Actually many of us have not met yet so it should be a fun day.

For the "picnic" I thought I'd bring the dry goods--plates, forks, napkins, and chips....I'm leaving directly from work fri. to drive up, so non-perishables are probably best for me to contribute :)

I don't much have a preference air vs. Nitrox, so a stop along the way is up to whomever else is along... I just know I'll need tanks from somewhere.

Any other details?????

Krista, sounds great. We will need that stuff as well as the actual food.

FYI, you have to be Nitrox certified before you can buy/use Nitrox. But for this type of dive air will be my choice. Plus it's easily available.

Sometimes you have to go with what's easy.

Are you serious about the chili? I definitely bring some if you are. Just hate to go through all the traveling with frozen and then thawed food stuff if it will not be used.

No worries, I am Nitrox cert'd; though I might agree that at that depth it's not really necessary. I tend to always use it to keep in practice w/converting tables.

Hmm, don't go through major trouble for me. From the sound of it, I figured it was a green salsa....if it's more on lines of a great big bowl of chili, (while it is very tempting sounding), I'm sure you'll have enough else to haul and get from here to there w/o worrying about that too. However, I might have to bug you:poking: for the recipe..yum yum. :licklips:

Jax-
Come on down!!! I am new here, too. This is going to be fun. I'll bring chips, pretzels and condiments. Yes, I live less than 30 minutes fron Ginnie. I'll get there early, and stake out a pavillion for us. We just leave our stuff on the picnic tables when we dive. We did pick all our stuff up when we went to the other sites, though. I have an old Suburban that we can throw everything into if need be. They are open 8am-10pm Fri & Sat. Do you want me to get there at 8am?

If you don't mind hanging for awhile while were driving. I don't know how fast the "good spots" fill. But if our local diving hole is any indication the best are taken right away.

We are rockin' now :band:

AWWWWWWWWWWW
I wish I could join you guys but I;am going to be doing the weekend camping thing there in about 3 weeks..[I hope].

Ginnie is wonderful but its going to be crowded now with the florida furnace kicking in.. anyway have fun,, its a pretty safe dive for all skill levels

ABQ- What time are you arriving? I really don't want to hang out alone for a couple of hours, the company sucks! :teeth:

Narco- Are you local? You can come meet some new people. Nothing says you can't dive it now and again in a few weeks!
Kurt

I'm definitely a "no."

Too much happening this weekend at work... There's no way I'm going to be able to make it.

RavenC wouldn't have been able to go either.

Looks like it's going to have to happen some other time for us. :(
