Spectre once bubbled...

This is probably going to start one hell of a stir, but FYI. When I look at resumes and do interviews, microsoft certifications are check boxes in the wrong column.

What would Billy Boy say....probably call you a OS Stroke. :)

Actually my A+ has served me better. I do build systems on the side and maintain some home networks but never could find anything in the IT world that worked out so I stuck to what I know best.

And I use them everyday...what a way to pay the bills.

Not worth the paper it's written on. Some of the best programmers that worked for me didn't have it, and most of the worst did. Go figure!

Taken in context certs are just a tool, but not a replacement for experience. Some certs have more validity than others. IMHO, the Microsoft Server certs are more valid experientially than the Microsoft Developer certs. Not sure if other's (Cisco, Novell, CompTIA, etc) are like this or not. Some just show that you're good at studying for tests.

I was told when I first started working in the IT industry that within years I would need professional accrediation like a BEng - never even heard it hinted at in the last 13 years since I left college!

Experience is what counts in my books and not letters - certainly not letters dreamed up in Seattle....

.... I am a Photoshop geek. If someone has a question on digital imaging and using Photoshop, I usually am the person they ask. While I don't always remember all the tricks off the top of my head(sometimes it is a long while between using certain techniques), I have an extensive Photoshop reference library to draw upon. Plus I am a card carrying member of NAPP (The National Association of Photoshop Professionals)...now, if I could only make some money at this.
