Thanks for all the great advice guys (and gals) 
The dive shop where I will be taking my O/W is considered the best in the state, so I'm sure I will also bend thier ears for advice on equipment when the time comes. I go to take my pre-orientation in two weeks, so I'll do some browsing around all the goodies while I'm there.
Tom, Its a pleasure to meet someone here who is familiar with Arkansas. Ive never been to Lake Quachita before, but I have a choice of doing my O/W training dives there, or in Florida Springs, FL. I havent decided yet which way to go on that one. I grew up going to Lake Norfork in the northern part of the state. I certainly plan to do some diving up there. I understand that parts of the old town of Norfork are still down there after the damn was built, including the road and bridge which use to cross the old river. Then again Ive also heard they have 500lb catfish above the damn
