There are typhoons also in winter. Green island and Pengu are tourist destinations.

I did both shore diving and boat diving there. It's a bit of a trip to get there and apart drom diving there are other things to do and see. Hope the links help you out. OK so I contacted one person about a three day liveaboard trip a few days ago. There was no listing of the dive sites or what one would see. The guy tells me well you just come along and have a surprise. Totally unprofessional. Also dive times of 35 minutes. Effing ridiculous. Then the guy suggests I charter my own boat cause I ask too many questions.

The trip would cost US$1k for maybe ten 35 minute dives and two nights on a boat. But you can enjoy paying Mahjong and singing on the boat as extra activities lol. I am told that 60 minute dive times are too long lol

This is the level of the unprofessional diving ops in Taiwan. You will find foreigners who you can dive with on weekends. Where will you base yourself in Taiwan?

LOL.
Scuba diving is very popular in ROC and diving is NOT expensive at all.

Quarter Diving in New Taipei only charging NT$1,400.00(~US$45.00) for two shore dives.

I have a short trip to Hualien, Yilan and Taipei in this coming Oct and will check the local diving scene eg operator.

Yeah getting around can be fun. I've seen divers with tanks on their backs riding on scooters.

This is a good price for a LOB in Philippines though

here i was hoping Taiwan stand would exceed padi req look like its sub par training. I already have fare share is Bs training and kinda sick of it.

ahh RUN ya i don't like that kinda of response. rule one plan your dive your plan. if they just want you to wing it u can give them the finger tell them to fk off do better. Are you in taipei maybe we can buddy up and go somewhere i just need tank and weights bring everything back and ill be buying my 5 mm wetsuit +hood in taipei as i know taiwan makes thous cheaper there. i don't care if its 35 min or 40 min if ur out of air ur out of air nothing u can do. my sac is 1.6 to 2.8 depending if i'm stressed or not. still need to work out my sac rate.

my setup is
rk3 + rock boot
zen SS plate
lights dsmb
knife
all thous im bring it back to taiwan cuse i just want to get in water time fun or not just want to be under to get water time under my belt if air not to hard to find. problem for me would be transportation. don't have a car.

As im gathering data on dive sites. where i can boat dive and make a package dive that worth the time and SAFEty should be above anything else.

My trip to ROC in Oct is overland only.
NT$1,400.00 for two dives is the quote I received from Quarter Diving(Jammy). NT$1,400.00 is about C$66.00.
You will be based in Sanchong which is in New Taipei and Quarter Diving is also in the same district.

No need to bring any gear to Vietnam.

I live in Alishan so quite a trip for me to dive north of Taipei. Thing is when I go diving I like to do 3 or 4 dives a day and make a nice trip of at least 30 dives. Driving 6 hours to get to Taipei area diving to do a couple of dives then spend money on a hotel overnight then drive 6 hours back home not exactly worthwhile. There is diving down south. The whole industry is catered to weekend diving. It's not like other countries where dive shops have their own boats. Here they just take you shore diving and they rent charters if they can put a group together.

I was just messaged to say they dont offer long dive times as Taiwan is not in South East Asia. The guy I conversed with asked me where was it possible in SEA to do a 60 minute or longer dive time lol
He thinks a 35 minute dive time is normal FFS.

What agency? Do you mean what certs I have? BSAC and Padi.
I dive AL 80's and that is the standard tank size.
My sac rate is around 8l/min on really slow dives. Maybe 10L/min and slight against current dives.

Yes they have Nitrox 32% getting mixes not sure should be able to. The people offering 35 min dives to were sites with 20m depth with one site a wreck dive to 38m depth. Pretty lame for both depths seeing as they are on air so NDL will be an issue for most divers not depth. I'm not in the best shape but still good at diving lol.

This is a dive I did on nitrox 32% this year.
Average depth 19m, started 200 bar finished with 85 bar dive time 64 minutes. A really nice slow dive with almost no current but of course gliding along with what current there was. Warm water as well I don't do cold water diving and I only dive in a T shirt and shorts till 22c then colder than that I slip on my 3mm sharkskin long sleeved top.

Could maybe go with this dive shop. Not dived with them before but Pingtung is only around a 4 hour drive for me... maybe less. Dive shop shore dives are around US$37 - 40 a dive with a guide. I'll call and ask about dive times.
